End Slavery Tennessee is now AncoraTN

NASHVILLE, TN. January 31, 2023. After a decade of combatting human trafficking in Tennessee, End Slavery Tennessee has announced that the organization is changing its name to AncoraTN (an•COR•ah | /ˈan.ko.ra/ Tennessee). The agency may be acting under a new name and a new look, but their mission remains the same—to nurture survivor healing and strategically combat human trafficking in Tennessee. This new brand reflects the organization’s evolution and its steadfast commitment to survivor healing.

End Slavery Tennessee was founded and named to sound the alarm that human trafficking exists and is happening here, in Tennessee. In the past decade, the organization has grown from raising awareness to providing a place for healing and restoration for survivors of human trafficking.

Ancora is Latin for anchor and means refuge, support, and hope. Inspired by survivor experiences and voices, AncoraTN represents the stability the organization seeks to provide survivors escaping exploitation. This new chapter aligns with AncoraTN’s new Survivor Restoration Campus and enhanced programming—providing comprehensive services including housing, therapy, life skills, and case management to support survivors as they rebuild their lives. As one survivor stated, “When you’re anchored in healing and growth, there’s no coming back.”

“AncoraTN represents hope. I’m grateful to lead an organization that elevates survivor voices and for a staff who embodies what it means to be an anchor to those we serve,” said Kelli Cary, AncoraTN CEO. “We look forward to the future as AncoraTN and will continue to relentlessly pursue our vision—which always has been, and continues to be, the eradication of human trafficking in Tennessee.”

ABOUT ANCORATN. AncoraTN (formerly End Slavery Tennessee) provides comprehensive aftercare services for human trafficking survivors and tactically addresses the problem through advocacy, prevention, and training of front-line professionals.
